in the summer class i’m taking, we have to write thought papers. the rules are straightforward enough: cover the material for the week. the one big caveat, though, is that these are meant to take the form of a letter or a message in a bottle WITHOUT any citations.
my second thought paper (submitted monday night) took the form of a letter to D. i constantly want to tell him things, imagine a space where he and i come face to face for me to fill him in, and Eliza often encourages me to write to him… so when i was driving home thinking about how he would react to this material and the ways i’m changing in response to it, writing to him was the obvious approach.
since this letter was written and submitted, the country has seemingly entered into a new war; I want to acknowledge how much has changed in a week.
read on to enter this imaginal space i’m co-creating with him.
